"JUMPING THE SHARK"

   The show i thought "jumped the shark" was Pokemon. Pokemon was mainly about Ash a young boy on a quest to be the best Pokemon trainer in the world and his fellow companion and Pokemon Pikachu. Pokemon was doing great and was becoming very popular in between young kids, but when they started making newer versions and more Pokemon characters, the show "Jumped the shark". No one could remember how the original show was and it was ruined.


   This show was pretty good before all the new additions . Everyone new all the Pokemon and what they could do. It was very popular and was a trend , sometimes people would even buy the cards and trade.The show would be interesting too because Ash would have to travel to many places and challenge gym leaders who were usually the strongest trainers in the city they lived. Eventually ash becomes friends with two gym leaders Brock and Misty and he travels for awhile with them to many places.
   
Eventually the show became to confusing to the viewers which were mostly all little kids that could barely remember anything. So of course it was very difficult to catch on and remember all the newer Pokemon as well as the original ones. I think Pokemon went downhill and became less popular because they added to many new "improvements" and additions to the Pokemon we once new when we were young. After like Pokemon advanced i stopped watching it because it was too confusing and i kind of just miss the original show.

I picked a dagger/knife  for the object that would be found in Rome or the play. I got this idea from Act 3 in the play when Caesar is getting killed by Brutus, Cassius and the other conspirators. this also makes me believe that their were many traitors/ conspirators during this time and that the Government was very unstable.

Marines Accused Of Desecrating Taliban Corpses

A new story out of Afghanistan is causing embarressment for the United States, and the Marine Corps:

 The U.S. Marine Corps is investigating a video that surfaced online today in which several Marines appear to urinate on the corpses of suspected Taliban fighters.

The video, which is less than a minute long, appears to show four men in uniform looking around before urinating on three dead bodies, at least one of the men chuckles as they do so.

“Have a great day, buddy,” one of the men is heard saying, apparently to a dead body.

The Marine Corps responded quickly after reports of the video surfaced, calling for a full investigation.

“Headquarters Marine Corps has recently been made aware of a video that portrays Marines urinating on what appear to be deceased members of the Taliban,” the USMC statement said. “While we have not yet verified the origin or authenticity of this video, the actions portrayed are not consistent with our core values and are not indicative of the character of the Marines in our Corps.”

The video surfaced on several websites early Wednesday. On one website, the member who posted the video identified the Marines as belonging to the 3/2 Marine battalion out of Camp Lejeune. The battalion served in the northern Helmand Province in Afghanistan last summer.

Not surprisingly, the release of the video, which is available from various online sources, has also been condemned by Afghan President Karzai, Defense Secretary Panetta, and Secretary of State Clinton. Interestingly enough, though, the Taliban themselves don’t appear inclined to let the incident disrupt ongoing peace negotiations:

(Reuters) – A video showing what appear to be American forces urinating on dead Taliban fighters prompted anger in Afghanistan and promises of a U.S. investigation on Thursday, but the insurgent group said it would not harm nascent efforts to broker peace talks.

Despite concerns when the video first emerged that it would not help his efforts build confidence among the warring parties, a Taliban spokesman said although the images were shocking, the tape would not affect talks or a mooted prisoner release.

“We know that our country is occupied…This is not a political process, so the video will not harm our talks and prisoner exchange because they are at the preliminary stage.”

There really isn’t much that can be said about this incident. If the video is an accurate depiction of what happened, and it appears to be, then it’s simply inexcusable and inhuman, and the Marines who did this should be held to answer for what they’ve done.  They’ve dishonored themselves, their uniforms, and their country.

RESPONSE: 

In this article Doug Mataconis is informing us about some shocking news about 
the war in Afghanistan. Not only is it disrespectful what these American Marines 
have done ; but cruel and just sick this action make us( the USA) look very bad 
and have no respect of human life. This article is a good example of the theme 
violence leads to more violence .Since the war in  Afghanistan the USA has been
 fighting against Taliban fighters. This news will do nothing, but make more people 
mad and angry which will eventually become into violence.  The Afghanistan 
President is enraged by this video and condemns it obviously this violence and 
disrespectful act will lead to more violence.

HARD LABOR!!(FABLE)

    (Explanation: This Fable satirizes weekend homework)
       Tired of an abusive lion, and having to build houses for other animals and other hard labor all day, a pack of animal students leave their homes and want to leave free without worries. This pack of animal students consisted of a few small animals; a dog ,chicken, tiger, and a pig. Naturally the tiger being the biggest and strongest assigned himself as the leader of the pack.They had left because they were just tired of the mean old lion , the teacher , he would make them build houses and other hard tasks to prove their skills. Everyday they had the same routine and what was worse is that he gave them building tasks when it was their "family time" or their free time.
       The animals went to a farm right outside of town. In this farm the tiger told the animals how to behave and what to do. Although the tiger was very nice with everyone else ,  he would sometimes try to act like an absolute monarch and control everyone. Besides that for the few weeks they were there everyone was happy and having fun. No one had to much work or any hard labor like when they were with The old lion. The dog liked the tiger a lot and was very polite and respected the tigers strength and power, but the chicken felt very threatened by him and his enormous size put next to the chicken. although the chicken did not like the tiger and the dog was inspired and liked him , the pig was neutral and said he wouldn't mind which side to pick.
        Eventually , after weeks passed the freedom and liberty the animals had this time while they were away from the old lion faded away because of the tiger. The tiger had become into what the animals had ran away from. He was very strict and tried to teach them a lot. he would make them build houses for each other , and also got rid of the new "family time" or free time they had. The tiger was exactly like The old lion which was very ironic. The animals would even sarcastically say," how about we do what we did when we were stuck with The old lion, runaway?". After all that happened , the pack of animals finally convinced the tiger that it was best for all of them to go back to the old town and old lion; there old teacher.
        Finally after coming back to the old lion the animals realized that they shouldn't avoid work and procrastinate. Hence, the animals learned that they should always work harder and more efficiently and not wait until the last moment. All these factors would help time go by faster and seem much easier. Another thing they agreed on was not to argue about dumb little concepts that were no big issues. So the animals lived many years with there old teacher the old lion and enjoyed the rest of their lives.

JOHN’S DECLERATION FROM SOCIETY

       The cruel society that we live in is corrupt and is based upon three very important things according to the government . We can all live better and do what we would want to if we got rid of this society.  This society has taught us that the three most important things in our boring, dull, plain lives are soma, sex, and consumption. The government thinks that by putting all of these ideas in our heads well do whatever they command us to do well I say no more! All the society has done is made our lives worse, they only tell us to do things that they will benefit of like consumption. Exploiting there power over all of us and all of the small children. The nonsense and rubbish being brain washed into the small undeveloped minds of our children, that can’t even tell the difference between what is good and what is not.

            Consumption is very important to our society in that it helps advocate or stable economy. I personally think that it’s bad and unimportant to our lives. Come on people we don’t need this , imagine how it would be without all these bad rules .Well I bet it would be a lot much more fun and we would all enjoy it honestly. Throughout time we have lost the old ways our people use to live, like Shakespeare, when he lived everything wasn’t just nonsense and dumb ideas or concepts. Everything would be fully thought out.

            In this “advanced” society we live in people can barely tell what the difference is between love and lust or the need to have something. For most people in this dumb society love is nothing, sex is just would be a way to enjoy their time with a person. I viewed Lenina as more than a partner I viewed her as a soul mate for eternity, but all she wanted was to interconnect with me and have fun, Not very valuable for her. Well I might not be perfect like this so called civilized society is said to be called, but I can be a good person for her. Sex and soma aren’t needed every day like this government recommends or suggest.

            In conclusion society is corrupted and focused only for the good of the cruel underlying government. Many of these things are unnecessary in a wonderful life.  The government is so weak that they would even brain wash people in hypnopaedia and even small children. This place disgusts me and I hate it now I will have to do whatever to leave such an awful place. I feel as if I am in hell. Without true happiness, love, and freedom I cannot breathe no longer .This society is in need of well help and till then I say adios society. Goodbye world, this is the declaration from society!!
